Are you tired of loading up your car with products you use frequently? Do you know exactly what you want? Here are two websites that can save you money and time.
If you don’t have pets, specifically a cat, dog, or some combination, you can skip to the next paragraph. But if you do have pets and are not already using Chewy.com, you’re going to want to keep reading. Chewy has everything you need for food, supplies, accessories, and toys at very competitive prices. No more loading and unloading tubs of kitty litter from your car. You will only need to bring it in from your front step. We order our all our cat food, litter, leashes, harnesses, and toys from Chewy. When we adopted our rescue cat, the only thing we purchased from the pet store was a carry kennel because we needed it immediately for transport; otherwise, a little planning ahead has saved us a lot of time, money, and backaches.
Amazon is getting close to making routine shopping obsolete. For example, I know exactly which K-Cup coffee brand and flavor I prefer. And I know what printer ink I need. I go through a lot of both. Items like these that I use routinely I order from Amazon. The prices are usually better than I get from a brick & mortar store, and the products show up at my door, often within two days.
Among the many benefits of Amazon Prime membership is free two-day shipping on most items and Prime TV, which includes TV shows and movies. Our son, daughter-in-law, and two of our granddaughters live in a remote part of Minnesota, over two hours away from a Costco, Sam’s Club, or a Super Walmart. Amazon Prime is their lifeline for shopping. If you think about it, for many of us seniors, as we age, anything that makes shopping easier and less expensive is wonderful.
As for the Amazon Prime “membership” price, it will pay for itself in gas and postage. Currently, membership is $119.00 per year. Annual student rates are about half of that, which means getting a college-age grandchild a membership could make a great gift.
Amazon Prime and Chewy are only two of the many ways you can shop without ever leaving the house. If you already know exactly what you want, online shopping makes a lot of sense. Click on the links above. You may be pleasantly surprised at how convenient it is to shop from home.
